PhilDev Foundation and Wells Fargo Launch the SHE++ Empowerment Program for Women in Tech

Home / News / PhilDev Foundation and Wells Fargo Launch the SHE++ Empowerment Program for Women in Tech

by Arianne Louise Arenas

Manila, Philippines – PhilDev Foundation, in partnership with Wells Fargo Philippines, launched the SHE++ Empowerment Program for Women in Tech, an initiative designed to bridge gaps in skills and opportunities for female students in technology-based courses. The program aims to empower 1,600 university students from Local Universities and Colleges (LUCs) across the National Capital Region (NCR).

Bridging Skills Gaps and Unlocking Opportunities

The program runs from February to June 2025 wherein participants will gain valuable insights into technopreneurship, leadership, design thinking, cloud computing, and other advanced ICT skills. Designed to meet the growing demand for highly skilled ICT professionals, the initiative also fosters an innovative mindset and entrepreneurial spirit among young women in tech.

This advocacy is deeply rooted in the shared vision of PhilDev Foundation and Wells Fargo—both committed to building a more inclusive and equitable future. By empowering women in technology, the program seeks to bridge gender gaps, create new opportunities, and drive innovation, ensuring that more women can contribute to and lead in the rapidly evolving tech landscape.

The program features five core components:

  • Training Needs Assessment
  • Workshops on Technopreneurial Mindset and Power Skills Development
  • Technical Skill Masterclasses
  • Mentorship Sessions
  • Career Development Webinars

Partnering with Local Universities and Colleges

PhilDev will collaborate with five LUCs, carefully selected to provide access to women from various socioeconomic backgrounds. The LUCs will serve as hosts for the monthly program cycles, ensuring localized support and engagement.

Each university will recruit 120 female students from  computer studies courses who are entering their internships or preparing to graduate. These students will benefit from in-depth sessions tailored to their educational and career aspirations.

Advancing Gender Equality and Empowering Women

SHE++ places a focus on creating equitable opportunities for women, recognizing the potential and talent in the tech industry. By addressing gender-based gaps and providing available interventions, the program empowers women to overcome challenges and redefine their roles in STEM careers.
