PhilDev is a non-profit organization that aims to eradicate poverty in the Philippines. We believe that we can achieve this by focusing on technology-based and social entrepreneurship-based education, innovation and entrepreneurship. We partner with government, academe, development agencies and the private sector to build strategies that address specific gaps in the ecosystem, in particular education, innovation and entrepreneurship ecosystems.

PhilDev is committed to protecting your rights and privacy and will only use the information that we collect about you lawfully. Your privacy is important to PhilDev (the terms “we”, “us”, and “our” throughout this document mean PhilDev). Please read our Privacy Policy carefully to understand how we collect, use, disclose, transfer, and store your information.

HOW DO WE GATHER INFORMATION ABOUT YOU?

When you access our website, we may provide information about us, as well as information regarding our programs, activities and services. In the course of using our website and social media accounts, we may collect your IP address and browser type.

We may collect, use and keep your comments and information made known to us via responses to surveys or any other communication via any media be it print, electronic, verbal or otherwise, with our employees, partners, and authorized representatives.

We may also collect information from you in the following ways:

a) when you make a donation

b) when you apply for or are given a scholarship

c) when you participate in or avail of any of our programs, activities, and services

d) when you apply for a job with us, become an employee, provide consultancy services directly to us, become an intern, or volunteer in our programs and activities

e) when you contact us with inquiries or other correspondence (including via social media) or become involved with us in another way

WHAT INFORMATION DO WE GATHER ABOUT YOU?

When you participate in or avail of any of our programs, activities and services, or when you use our website, interact with our employees, partners and authorized representatives in one of the ways listed above, we may collect and process your personal information. This may include:

a) Your name, image and personal particulars, including but not limited to contact details, address, birthdate and educational information

b) Information you enter in our website or other hardcopy forms at our event

c) Details of your visit to our website, including your IP address

d) Financial information such as your bank or card details for payment of authorized transactions

e) Social media accounts

f) Employment details

g) Records of your correspondence with us, if you have contacted us

h) Photos, video and voice recordings

WHAT DO WE USE YOUR INFORMATION FOR?

We use the information collected, in accordance with this policy and our obligations under applicable data protection laws and regulations, to implement and provide programs, activities and services that you have availed of to:

a) Approve, facilitate and process applications and transactions;

b) Administer and confirm receipt of your donation and to say thank you and provide details of how your donation might be used;

c) Provide updates on services, activities or information you have indicated you want to receive or which you have asked for;

d) Respond to queries, requests and complaints;

e) Conduct studies and researches for the purpose of developing and improving our programs, activities and services;

f) Reach out to you for fundraising for our programs, activities, and services;

g) Determine the effectiveness of our social marketing and initiatives;

h) Keep a record of your relationship with us for our own internal administrative purposes;

i) Publish promotional materials for our campaigns, programs and activities, where your picture, videos or interviews with us may appear, where you have provided your consent;

j) Provide essential event information where you have signed up to attend;

k) Perform other such activities permitted by law and to comply with applicable laws and regulations, and requests from statutory agencies.

COOKIES AND PIXEL TAGS AND HOW WE USE THEM

Like most website, we use cookies and pixel tags to provide you with a great experience and to help our website run effectively.

Cookies are small pieces of data that a website places automatically to your web browser and stored on your computer’s hard drive. Cookies do not harm your computer. Cookies may involve the transmission of data from us to you and from you directly to us, to another party on our behalf, or to another party in accordance with its privacy policy. We may use these small pieces of data to analyze trends and statistics and to help us provide better service, but we do so in ways that we keep the information anonymous.

Pixel tags are small graphical images embedded in websites or emails. Pixel tags are used to determine what parts of the website a visitor has viewed. These pixel tags, just like cookies, are used to collect information and analyze internet traffic to our website, to help us improve our content and navigation, to personalize your experience, to enhance our marketing efforts, tailored to your interests based on your online behavior.

Web browsers normally accept cookies by default. However, you may set your web browser so that it does not accept cookies. If you do so, however, some areas of our website may not function properly. Most areas of our website may still function without cookies, but cookies are required if you wish to sign up for our newsletter, when you want to make a donation, or view or download files for our programs and activities. WHO HAS ACCESS TO YOUR INFORMATION?

PhilDev has its office in the US and in the Philippines. We may need to disclose your information to another office in some circumstances. We will only share your details with another office in accordance with the data protection laws and regulations and where we have your consent to do so.

If you participate in or avail of any of our programs, activities and services, we may share your information with our donors, partners, affiliates and third parties under an obligation of confidentiality.

PhilDev may allow our staff, consultants and/or external providers acting on our behalf to access and use your information for the purposes for which you have provided to us (e.g. to use for research, to analyze data, to process your donation, to deliver email subscription), or for the purposes set out in this Privacy Policy. We only provide them with the information they need to provide the relevant service, or applicable to their work, and we make sure your information is transferred securely.

We wish to assure you that we do not and will not sell your personal data to any third parties.

HOW DO WE PROTECT YOUR INFORMATION?

We will maintain confidentiality, integrity and availability of your information by employing manual, technological and procedural safeguards. We train our employees to properly handle your information. Whenever we enter into partnership agreements, we require our partners to align with our security standards.

When you make a donation using our website, the online payment transactions will be encrypted. We utilize Secure Sockets Layer (SSL) technology when processing your donations, which encrypts data. Our website is also Payment Card Industry Data Security Standard (PCI DSS) compliant, which ensures security and protection of sensitive client credit card information. We use strict procedures and security features to prevent unauthorized access.

HOW LONG DO WE KEEP YOUR INFORMATION?
Your personal information shall be retained for as long as the purpose for which it was collected remains in effect and until such time as it is no longer required nor necessary to keep information for any other legal and regulatory purposes. To protect its confidential information, PhilDev will hold and dispose of personal data in an appropriate and secure manner.

In respecting your rights to privacy, you may opt to tell us:

a) Not to send you marketing/fundraising materials;

b) Not to share your information with our partners and donors;

c) To disclose your complete information subject to restrictions by certain laws and regulations;

d) To update your information;

e) About your other issues and concerns.

CHANGES TO THIS PRIVACY POLICY
This Privacy Policy may be amended from time to time. Any such changes shall be posted on this website.
